Santa Fe
DAY 1
Morning: Visit the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Lunch at La Chosa. Afternoon: Free to wander (there are many art galleries on Canyon Road. Night at Hotel Santa Fe. Map of Santa Fe here.
Abiquiú–Ghost Ranch
DAY 2
Morning: drive to the Village of Abiquiú (48 miles). Take a tour of Georgia o’Keeffe’s Home and Studio. Lunch at the Abiquiu Inn. Afternoon: drive to Plaza Blanca, where you can walk Georgia O’ Keeffe’s ‘white place’. Note: Plaza Blanca is owned by the Dar Al Islam Education Center, email to request access here before you travel. Drive to Ghost Ranch. Night at Ghost Ranch (choice of camping/RV/lodge). Dinner at Ghost Ranch. Pre-booking essential for the home and studio tour and Ghost Ranch accommodation.
Ghost Ranch
DAY 3
Morning: Walk one of the many trails around the Ranch. I would suggest the trail up to Chimney Rock (3 miles). Lunch: bring your own. Afternoon: take a tour of Georgia O’Keeffe’s ranch home. Night at Ghost Ranch. Dinner at Ghost Ranch. Pre-booking essential for the house tour.
Taos
DAY 4
Morning: Drive from Ghost Ranch to Taos (75 miles). Visit Ranchos Church which is depicted in one of her most paintings. Lunch: Orlando’s New Mexican Cafe. Afternoon: Visit the Taos Art Museum, once the home of Mabel Dodge Luhan, where Georgia O’Keeffe used to stay. Night: Hotel La Fonda. Map of Taos here.
